DIY Wooden Ornaments: Girls Craft Night

The girls and I got together for a little craft night and some much needed catching up. We made these glitzy but rustic initial ornaments. They were simple enough and just what we needed to get into the holiday season!
What you'll need...
Wooden Letters - about 4 inches tall
Wood Stain & Finish - I like this Minwax water based kind for small projects like this!
Modpodge Spray
Silver &/or gold Acrylic Paint.
Silver &/or gold glitter
Brushes
Painters tape
Twine or ribbon
Hot glue gun.
Step 1: Stain your letters. Wipe off any excess as you go. Be careful not to stain the same place twice! Let it dry. (It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes if you are good about wiping it off well.)
Step 2: Tape off the part of the letter you want to paint and then paint it. Let it dry.
Step 3: Tape off a smaller portion of the painted part. Spray that small part with the Modge Podge Spray Glue and sprinkle with glitter. Dust off any excess glitter. Now spray the glittered area with the Modge Podge again so that it holds all of the glitter on for good.
Step 4: Using a hot glue gun, stick on some twine or ribbon to make it hangable. Then go hang it on your tree!
I happened to have some wooden trees I cut out for another project I pretty much abandoned. Some of us made ornaments out of those as well. Glad they got some use!
Everyone's ornaments turned out so awesome! Thanks for a fun night girls!

(And if you are interested in a similar look but aren't the crafty type, here is a gold foiled or silver  foiled version. But i'm telling you...these were a cinch!)
