Wooden Painted Frame - Crafty Gift Idea

This is what the kids made for the grandparents this year for Christmas. A wooden frame with a picture of the last time they were able to visit. It's been a while since we moved out of state.
If you are still looking for a gift idea, well here ya go! It would also be awesome for father's or mother's day!
This gift idea is awesome, in my opinion, because it's thoughtful, it's crafty, and it's simple enough your littles can do it. {With supervision of course!} Also, everything you need you can find at Target. No need to make any extra stops at the craft store. Targets new craft sections gets a huge thumbs up from me! It has saved me so many times when in need {or want} of something crafty.

What you'll need...
Wooden frame
Wooden letters
paint brushes
white or cream colored acrylic paint:
{any color works though}
elmer's glue
a picture for your frame: optional
Step 1: Decide what you want to spell out on your frame. We went with "Love" and "I Love Us."
Then place your letters where you want them and glue them on. Elmer's glue works really well. I let little Brandon play with the letters for a bit and then helped him glue the right one's on. Let it dry. We waited over night but it will only take an hour or so.
Step 2: Take glass and backing off of the frame so that it's just the wood. Place lining down to protect your surface area. Paint the frame and the letters one solid color. Do 2 coats, letting it dry in between! The 1st coat will look a bit rough. But that second coat really evens it out and hides any brush strokes or streaks etc. You will need to use a smaller brush to get the edges of each letter painted well.
Place a picture for that added touch of thoughtfulness.
Now how easy is that! And the recipient of your choosing will L-O-V-E it!
